About the Topic: Understanding the Felt Sense can be challenging, but experiencing it firsthand makes all the difference. At every moment, you’re already experiencing it—bringing your awareness to it is the key. By focusing on our bodily sensations, which are the continuous physical events processed by our nervous system, we can gain profound insights.
You can direct your focus either outwardly (exteroception) or inwardly (interoception). By expanding our vocabulary to describe these sensations, we become more attuned to our bodies. This process is not about conceptualizing our sensations but about enhancing our awareness of them.
Maintaining this connection with our sensations allows our minds to rest and keeps us anchored in the present moment. As we become more adept at staying present and in tune with our bodily sensations, we gain better control over our emotions, enabling us to respond thoughtfully rather than react impulsively.
